China, Hong Kong: Home we go

It’s heavy
Muscles and sinews strained.
My walk
Difficult to keep straight.
I carry
Minutes to moments of wait.

Every failure
Additional pounds of pressure.
Gravity demands
My heart buckles in quiet penance.
Perception’s verdict
No parole for this lonely sentence.

Lesson refuted
525,600th times the charm.
Someone new
Used the wait, strength training, a determined fighter.
I’m undercover.
You see me, my burden lifted a little lighter.
